[24 Nov 2009|05:25pm]

Sitting in dark in car, early for meeting with director of psu-great valley's triaining & development dept. Thinking of transfering over to a blended learning environment, not just online like I have great learning.

Current worry, besides the $200 price increase per credit, is what happends to current 4-credit class via Boise state u. Go gators.

Hanging out tarmac in Charlotte waiting for a place to park. It's a little boring.

sneaky US AIRWAYS [08 Nov 2009|04:27pm]
Almost all of the money I saved by booking with US AIRWAYS has been taken away by baggage fees ($20) and a $15 'choice seat' payment so I'm not in a middle seat for 5 hours of the trip (did I mention I have to change planes twice for this wonderful deal?).

At least I will be seeing [info]gatopreto and maybe even [info]whitebird (I'll let you know if he actually exists.)

Resume Worthy? [28 Oct 2009|04:57pm]
[ mood | curious ]

Does Beta Testing a Learning Workbook for Camtasia Studio 6 count as resume worthy if  (1)I'm not getting paid (2) I replied to a shoutout from a newsletter to do it? It can still be freelance work, can't it?

No soup for me [19 Oct 2009|07:46pm]

Ever know of something you thought you were going to (cuz there's no reason not to think so), and then inexplicably you're just not?

Apparently I'm not going to Disney World after new years. I can, if I want, stay at the house and feed the cats. Of course I could just as easily do that here.

Am I home yet? [06 Sep 2009|07:28pm]

Trapped on non moving train...waiting for another train to get out of our way.
After getting stuck waiting for bridge to get unstuck.

While sitting in front of four year old.

Had great weekend though.

I did it! [21 Aug 2009|03:07pm]
I joined a little fru fru gym, that isn't the YMCA. Normally priced $35/month with a $200 start up fee. I got a year for $200 (for paying in advance).

I'm a member of a gym, y'all!

Even got myself in and did weights today.

Reality in the form of School [17 Aug 2009|04:30pm]
[ mood | shocked ]

Been having some head/heart issues over the past few days. Lots of little things conspiring for and against me.

Until...

Until the teacher started adding to the database o' Lotus Notes for start-up week, that includes a 16-page syllabus.

At least I'm all freaked out for the right and proper reasons now.

"I of course remember you--I count myself so fortunate to have ended up in your work group—what incredible talent you have!"

-- Director of Organ Procurement (for CO, UT, WY)

We met at astd2009.org and wound up in the same group with a third. How do you teach someone the guidelines of brain death? Do a "pushing up daisies" theme. Daisy comes up for each guideline chosen/correct, and daisy is lost for incorrect choice. I jumped in my PPT and did a quick slide as an illustration.

too busy for my own good. [14 Jul 2009|05:32pm]
[ mood | non-bored ]

I have had too much free time on my hands. The problem with that is, I don't make pretty pictures/clothes, scrub appliances, or watch too much TV, or play too much Wii. I spend it on Lynda.com and my.safaribooksonline.com all the time.

tried to join the YMCA today, but my "landlord" makes too much money even though I don't make any. Full price and $80 just to sign up please.

So back to deciding between (re)leaning CSS, Flash, Actionscript, Photoshop, Illustrator, Captivate, Javascript, at any given moment.

I keep putting the feelers out where I can for freelance work, but so is 9.5% of the population and most of India.

(( UPDATE/NOTE: I got the following at 7pm: "I am pleased to inform you that the IPT Program Committee has recommended your admission into the Master of Science in Instructional & Performance Technology program with regular status....to Graduate College for review."  I'm taking it as a "HANG IN THERE" sans kitty in tree. ))

Hey, does anyone still hang out on IRC anymore? Like on #bondage? Or is that SOOOOO 1990s?

Maybe Tuesday's @ Diesel could have an online component?

You're Welcome [11 Jun 2009|07:34pm]
[ mood | cheeky ]

I never got to help the person I wanted to during or after IRAQ ('before' worked out allright, i thought).

Instead, I wound up giving to the USO. Now, The Colbert Report is in IRAQ.

I'd rather have helped that indiviidual, but this is pretty cool too.

well *I* thought it was funny [06 May 2009|11:11am]
[ mood | giggly ]

The power guy just stopped over let me know that my electricity would be out at 12noon, to switch the house over to the new lines they've been building for the past couple of weeks.

After pouting a bit, I asked "is it at least better tasting with more nutrients and less calories?"

He didn't get it.

*sigh*

BB BOLD or Apple iPhone ? [23 Apr 2009|11:31am]
Anyone already done the hard work that I can mooch off of?

CNET.com's review are now "old" since both have had software updates.

And since the iPhone 16G is the same $ as a BB BOLD, that's not really an issue.

I like the QWERTY keyboard, but iPhone has more free apps (and $-apps are cheaper than Blackberry's)

Since I'm starting FROM a 3yr old Motorola RAZRm/Verizon, I don't have much experience in the 3G world yet.

And if not that, any BlueToothin' stuff you like?

thanks!

Grandpa Died :-( [28 Jan 2009|06:13pm]
[ mood | bummed ]

I'm cool. I mean, it's one of the reasons I didn't go to mom's in FL for xmas, to see him. However, Dad (it was his dad)... just took off, in the dark n' slush, that he didn't have any suits that fit.

mini-update: Viewing sunday, funeral monday, me or sis has been volunteered to read a passage. Goodie. :/

Dad has genetics, and many years (& beers), of experience to kill off that empathy, and hone the Logical. So it's hard to know what to do/how to do deal with him WITH emotion, when you... eg. don't gets hugs, cuz it's just not part of him.
